SITRA takes over Amerongen Kamphuis

SITRA takes over Dutch sector peers Amerongen Kamphuis.

The takeover fits in with SITRA’s growth strategy and was finalised this week. Both for our customers and employees the synergy opens up new possibilities.

In 2013, SITRA’s current shareholders, cousins David Saelens (CEO) and Nicolas Saelens (COO) launched their ‘Plan 2020’, an ambitious strategy for sustainable growth with the aim of realising a turnover of €200 million by 2020.

The integration of Amerongen Kamphuis is one of the steps designed to help SITRA realise this objective. SITRA Group CEO David Saelens: “The activities of Amerongen Kamphuis are very much complementary to ours. AK specialises in LTL transport (‘less than truckload’) in the German-speaking parts of Europe, the Benelux and Scandinavia, which was a blind spot in our own service. We are both family businesses with a long history. We are committed to forging long-term business relationships with our customers, with a focus on quality, flexibility and innovation. Thanks to these shared norms and values it didn’t take long for SITRA and AK to reach an agreement.”

Jan Kamphuis will continue on as general manager of AK together with David Saelens.

“For us this is the perfect opportunity to join a larger organisation. The takeover will help us to professionalise our company even further. As for our customers, the takeover will expand both our geographical reach and flexibility. For our staff there is plenty of growth potential. This collaboration is the perfect step towards a bright future, a win-win situation for all parties involved”, Kamphuis concludes.
