Road safety
The maintenance, repair and inspection of our whole fleet take place according to a tested maintenance system. Sitra is also a strong believer in prevention. A strict maintenance schedule guarantees that our vehicle fleet is in excellent condition at all times. Each service is recorded on a maintenance sheet per truck and per trailer. The services and inspection dates can be consulted in the computer system. All measuring instruments in the trucks such as the tachograph, flow indicator, thermometer and thermograph are re-tested at the specified times. Our drivers strictly comply with stringent instructions when transporting both chemical substances and foodstuffs. They wear the required technical equipment and use PPE or personal protection equipment where necessary. Further, all our trucks are fitted with blind spot mirrors to maximally guarantee the safety of pedestrians and cyclists. |
The environment
Multimodal transport arrangements enable Sitra to take account of the environment each and every day. Planning always involves seeking the most cost-effective form of transport. And this for both the customer and the environment. Sitra Group drives DAF XF trucks with low-noise Euro 5 engines. In addition, low-noise pumps keep noise pollution to a minimum when unloading tankers. Our drivers are also trained to drive as economically as possible. Responsible energy consumption, attention to waste reduction and the separation of waste material flows are daily practice at Sitra Group. |
